It doesn’t matter if you're juggling between a high-powered desktop at the office and a portable laptop for remote work, or you're a creative pro syncing files across multiple machines; managing two systems can be a productivity bottleneck. That’s where the Plugable TBT-UDT3 Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station with Thunderbolt™ Share steps in to streamline your dual-PC setup.
What Is Thunderbolt Share?
Thunderbolt Share is Intel’s powerful new software platform that creates a high-bandwidth, secure connection between two Windows Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5 PCs. Once connected with a Thunderbolt Share licensed device—like the Plugable TBT-UDT3—you unlock a host of game-changing features designed to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and control.
Key Features and Real-World Use Cases
Drag-and-Drop File Sharing. No Cloud Required
Tired of emailing yourself files or bouncing between cloud drives? Thunderbolt Share enables direct, high-speed file transfers between two PCs, no internet or external drives required.
- Ideal For: Transferring large video files, syncing project folders, or migrating from an old PC.
- Why It Matters: File transfers don’t clog up your network or expose your data to cloud-based vulnerabilities. It is also simply more efficient and convenient.
Shared Peripherals and Remote PC Control With No Lag
Share any peripherals connected to the TBT-UDT3 between two PC’s. Use a single keyboard and mouse across two PCs with seamless cursor movement. Access connected drives, displays, and Thunderbolt peripherals without needing to move a cable!
- Ideal For: Hybrid workers with multiple laptops, IT managers monitoring systems, gamers streaming on one PC while playing on another, or pros using laptops for Zoom and desktops for CAD. Works as a great alternative to a Thunderbolt switch.
- Why It Matters: Multitask between work and personal systems without losing efficiency or desk space.
Smooth Multi-PC Workflows
With Thunderbolt Share, easily control one PC from another. Creatives can monitor renders on one system while editing on another, and developers can run local servers and dev environments in parallel.
- Ideal For: Engineers, developers, streamers, and power users with high-performance, multi-system setups.
Why It Matters: Reduces hardware redundancy and maximizes productivity across machines.
